East Coast Impala SS Open Official Rules PRINT THIS!

*New* I was asked about the 11.999 and quicker NHRA roll bar rule. The official word from Bill Wilcom, owner of 75-80 Dragway, is: If an ImpalaSS runs sub 12.00 and does not have a roll bar, it is ok for June 13th. Just like last year, they allowed John Rafteseth to run even though he cut afew 11.9x's Since then, John R. has installed an NHRA roll bar and so has Troy Clark. They know their cars will run 11's.  Now if you "know" your car will run 11's. then I say get yourself a roll bar and to heck with the June 13th grace.  If you "hope" it runs 11's...then don't worry about getting banned on June 13th. In other words, if you are running 12.00, and dip into the high 11's on June13th, don't worry about getting banned.

1. Each Impala SS car and driver must comply with the track safety rules,(NHRA), and sign the track liability waiver.
2. Quick 8 will be set by taking the quickest 8 Impalas (NA and Power adders) from 2 designated timed runs,(qualification rounds). During these qualifying rounds you will be given a 0.500 sportsman tree. During eliminations you will have a 0.400 Pro tree. First to finish wins. Also, you may only run either N/A or Power Adders. Not both. You will decide which class of quick 8 you would like to qualify for prior to the first qualification round. If you have N2O and decide to qualify in the N/A class, you must be honest and disconnect the N2O bottle bla bla bla. Qualifying is determined by elapsed time and not by MPH. Lane choice
WILL go to car with the quickest ET from previous round. Quick 8 classes are: 1. Impala SS (Natually aspirated), 2. Impala SS (with Power Adders).
3. Impala Bracket Race will be standard break-out/handicapped ET eliminations with 0.500 sportsman tree. No electronic starting line aids allowed. Lane choice will be determined by the staging officials. Lane choice
WILL NOT be granted to any car due to better R/T or quicker ET. Bye is determined by the staging officials. Their decision is final...even if they make a mistake.
4. Track officials must be obeyed at all times.
