This year we watch.  Next year we race.
(all photos by Wanda unless noted)

Ellwein Engines went to Santa Pod Raceway to support the Swedish teams that share the same garage called The Best Damn Garage in Town.  Prom Mod 391 and Pro ET 730.

Podington England, "The Pod".

__
One of the brave finish-line safety crew.  The scene in the distance is of classic country manors.

__
These are top fuel funny car pistons which look very much like Kent's pistons in "The King of Spades".

I love this shot of the Top Fuel dragster.  The throttle has just been cracked open and plasma is coming out the pipes.

Podington Pit Life

__
The 4L80E in Anders Blackout SS would not shift into 3rd gear or it skipped 2nd gear all-together, (it was hard to tell exactly what the problem was by looking at the data logs). Axel makes sure that beer will not be consumed until after the work is finished.

__
Wanda and I arrived late Thursday morning and we were warmly greeted by Agneta and Axel and Anders along with Lars-Inge and Anne-Sophie.

__
We were happy to get busy to help change the 4L80E.  Notice in one photo you can see 4 people under the car at one time.

Persaker's Top Fuel Team

Anders has a good friend who owns the largest speed shop in all of Sweden.
That is Joran Persaker, (I pronounce it "Per-shaker"). Now he drives for and owns his own top fuel team.

__
I enjoy anything that has to do with Top Fuel. Nitro Methane.  What fun to mingle with the pros and feel like a VIP..

__
Anders, Agneta and Axel visit with Mr. Per-Shaker
__
Axel is now old enough to give tuning advice to Joran Per-Shaker's crew chief.
__
Per-Shaker ran 4.96 @ 281mph !!!!

OFAB Pro Mod Camaro

__
Another favorite place to hang out.  This is the OFAB Pro Mod team of Patrik Wikstrom.

__
PM391 shares the garage with The Blackout SS. [LINK TO TBDGIT]  That's Top Fuel Thore and Tommy.

__
These are photos from early round qualifying.  The 7.07 on the board is the "bump".
Team OFAB qualified #13 with a 6.449 @ 222mph

They WON! (photo from Ander's Envall www.blackout.nu)
Now check out the round-by-round report from Eurodragster.com

Pro ET

__
Anders will discuss and get a consensus on the dial-in with Crew Chief Agneta and crew Paul Somerville, Axel and me.
With 3 gears working we picked 9.80's and with 2 gears we picked 10.55-ish.

Agneta assigned me to handle the video camera.  Paul was assigned to assist Anders in staging.
After writing the dial-in on the window, Paul and I had fun discussions as to what ET he and I would have picked.

These are nice photos of The Blackout SS from the hand of my GF Wanda.

Since Agneta was the Blackout SS Crew Chief she maintained the overall "Big Picture"

This is a finish-line photo of Pro ET round 1 where Anders won.
The link to the larger photo will show Crew Chief Agneta taking video on a step-ladder

Firestorm/Super Comp/Fun

 __
This is the Jet Car driver and fan favorite Roger Goring.

__
Axel loves the carnival and won this bear.
__
My favorite Pro ET drivers are Carla Pittau in the Heaven & Hell Camaro and Anders Envall in the Blackout SS.
Now the Blackout SS wears the fine looking Ellwein Engines logo.
__
Axel loves to have fun.  Paul lines up Chris Johnson's Big Block Chevy Super Comp #1 MG (8.90's)

Axel took the Bat Man style photo of Wanda and I.

__
We visited London and also the memorial for the WWII heroes at Podington Airfield.
