The PISTON page

The only piston used at Ellwein Engines is the Mahle piston.  For a very moderate price, ($570 via Summit Racing) Mahle provides a superior quality piston, pin, lock and ring package.  In my opinion this piston and ring package is worth it's weight in gold.  Made right here in the USA.  The whole piston has a dry phosphate coating and the skirt has a proprietary lubricant coating.  More and more engine builders are discovering the value and superior quality of this piston/ring package and I think you'll start to see it offered in more of my competitors motors.  Every engine assembled at Ellwein Engines gets the Mahle piston and rings by default.  Certainly customers may choose other piston brands and piston/rod combinations.
Mahle is my choice and I hope it will be yours.
