Anders Envall goes 9.844 @ 137mph
This happens during the European Drag Racing Finals at Santa Pod Raceway, U. K. September 2006.  I followed along for his adventure and was able to take a few photos

Yes Anders finally took his 1000hp Autoshop 396LT1 powered Impala SS down the 1/4 mile and made 9 second time slips look easy.  The 2006 European Drag Racing Finals was the occasion.  Santa Pod Raceway was the location.  About 50,000 people witnessed it.

It started in Gothenburg Sweden at the Best Damn Garage in Town.  Here is where Pro Mod 1 and Pro ET 730 are garaged.  They parked outside to make room for the best party yet of the 21st century.

Jonas, Celeste, Kenneth, Glen, Anders do some bench racing at TBDGIT before the party.  They say that Anders won this event.  Do you notice Smokey overseeing in the background?

Celeste, Agneta and Axle help prepare the crayfish, shrimp and crab.

Soon TBDGIT was packed with Swedish Royalty, visitors from far and wide, Top Fuel teams, Pro Mod teams, Jet Car teams and curious on-lookers.

Patrick (PM 1) and Anders (Pro ET 730) greet everyone and officially start up the festivities.

The most popular party game was the pro tree eliminations.

Some of the girls had questions about the workings of the big pro mod Keith Black HEMI.
I was happy to give lessons, (haha).

2 days later the BLACKOUT SS was packed for it's trip to England.

Agneta and Anders say good-by for a few days.

A short drive to the North Sea ferry.

And 30 hours later BOOM here we are in the PRO ET pits.

All is well in the 9 second pits.  A Super Comp team baked a 9 second cake for Anders.

The Queen of England declares September 7th, 2006 as NATIONAL BLACKOUT DAY.
Folks in the US, UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Italy celebrate for 2 weeks, non-stop.

Anders could not be beat this weekend.  He won the Crazy Razy Crayfish party reaction time contest.  He won the race to the nines and he won this laptop bench race.
