ECIRS member Mike Kender is probably the most active of all ECIRS drivers.  He makes an attempt to attend all of the scheduled races as well as most of the regional and national car shows.  His DCM has been awarded 1st place at so many car shows that it would be hard to list them all.  Mikes trophy case is stuffed full with Editors Choice, Super Chevy Best of Show awards and more.  The neat thing about this guy is that he isn't shy about racing his car after retrieving it from the Show Car Corral.
Mike made a good attempt for the point championship in 2000 with a 6th place finish.  In 2001 he moved even closer to the top with a 3rd place finish.  Again, in 2002 Mike ended up finishing a strong 3rd overall.  A 4th place overall finish for 2003 came about as a result of a strong season ending finish at the ECIRS double points finale, (Mike won that event in 6 rounds of double points).
  If ECIRS were to award "Best Sport" award, Mike would be a top contender.  He is always quick to lend a hand in the pits and even quicker to speak a kind word or give a friendly greeting.
